Routine Care
Laminate flooring is low-maintenance so once you establish a care routine, you'll find it is easy to keep your floors looking beautiful. Sweep and dry mop your flooring regularly, how often will depend on how much traffic the room gets. You can use a damp mop that is rung out well on most laminate flooring. Do not allow water to sit on your floors to prevent damage. It is a good idea to place doormats at entrances to reduce the amount of dirt and grime tracked into your home. Be sure to address spills as soon as they occur. With a little effort your floors will last you for many years.
Solids
Spills are bound to happen. Fortunately, they're easy to clean on laminate floors. When you spill a solid, simply sweep or dry mop it up. You may want to use a damp cloth to wipe up any risidual grime left behind.
Liquids
No matter how careful you are, sometimes spills happen. Fortunately most laminate flooring on the market today is water-resistent. So as long as you wipe up the spill quickly with a clean cloth, it won't cause any lasting damage. You can wipe with a damp cloth if there is any residue. Consult your manufacturer information for approved cleaning solutions.
Bonus Tip
Over time laminate floors may lose their shine due to normal wear and tear. Revive the shine on your laminate floors by cleaning them thoroughly then using a manufacturer approved product or homemade solution.
